Good morning,

My name is Super SPACE5 and I am currently studying computer science.

Today, I’m here to talk about the importance of recycling electronic devices.

Not only am I a regular user of electronic devices, and as such, I feel concerned by the issue. But as a future technician, I also understand the need to move forward in the right direction.

First of all, let’s talk about the components of the phones. Smart phones contain rare minerals that are hard to extract. For example : Lithium and cobalt for batteries or gold for Electrical wiring. When billions of smart phones are produced, it is a lot of minerals!

Secondly, the horrible conditions in which children work in mines. The children are forced to mine minerals with nothing to protect their hands. For example : The children mining cobalt in The Democratic Republic of Congo. As a consequence, they suffer from rash and lung diseases.

Finally, the ecological impact of making a smart phone is huge, because factories release CO2 and it is one major factor for climatic change.

To conclude, I am certain that recycling electronic devices is of the utmost importance for the future of our planet.

Let’s start recycling today and protect

the planet from climate change !
